Cedar Park’s Moonie’s Burger House is opening a third location at MoPac and Burnet, in the same shopping center as TacoDeli, at 12001 Burnet Road. Looks like the same spot as the failed Gabbi’s Burgers and Dogs occupied.
Another deal for Elevation, this time via Adealio via Facebook. $7 gets you $15. Good through 11/5/2011. One annoying condition listed: “Not to be combined with Meal Deal”. Huh? Why not?
Get it here.

Apparently the Hatch Chile Burger at Bam’s Roadhouse Grill is worth trying!
We are sad to report that Max Parfait, which existed as a cart at various farmers markets, is no more. I only got the chance to visit once, and found the burger to be quite delicious and worthy of further exploration. Was hoping they would expand up north so I could enjoy more of the goodness, but that never happened.
The owner, Zarghun Dean, has embarked on a new food venture, check it out at http://qarnival.com/. We hope he returns to his burger ways sometime in the future.
CM is promoting a July 4th tie-in Burger Revolution. Basically they are building zany “burger” creations, like “cranberry Gorgonzola turkey burgers and Thai shrimp patties”. Umm, we’ll pass on that. We don’t call those things “burgers” around here. They also have an accompanying Burger Manifesto which describes their motivations, and which runs counter to our own Official Burger Statement here at ABN. I’m sure their plain burger is quite delicious (it’s on our list to try out), but we’ll skip the Revolution Burgers….
Off topic, but I have been searching for the 2js special sauce for years. Would you have any resources to locate it?
Today’s Groupon is $4 for $8 at Top Notch. No brainer. But what’s with that photo–that ain’t no burger you can get at Top Notch! There’s also one for $5 for $10 at In the Buns, also with a fake burger photo. It’s National Burger Week.
The Top Notch burger, much like the Hill-Bert’s burger, is one of those burgers that tastes a lot better than it looks. Come to think of it, there is usually an inverse relationship between appearance and quality when it comes to dive burgers. I think the Casino El Camino burger is one of the few great dive burgers whose appearance directly indicates the quality of its taste.
From In the Buns‘ Facebook page:
Tomorrow 5/20/2011 from 6-9p.m. you can enjoy ANY burger for only $2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is dine in only and must mention this post! You can share this post with friends.
Ask to try their fresh cut fries!
In the Buns is featured in todays “aDealio”, which is yet another Groupon-esque site that I had never heard of. $7 for $15 worth of grub. And, prominently touted in the dealio is the fact that In the Buns is “testing their new fresh-cut fries“, which is encouraging news! Get the aDealio deal here.

hey chris…we are now open in that location. Its a smaller but “cozier” place than our other locations. We are testing a few different things over there. We have a family meal deal for $21.99 that feeds two adults and two kids…we have a happy hour from 4-7pm everyday. ALL bottled beer is $2. One of the best deals in town! And for you we offer either sliced or shredded cheddar (asked for shredded) to top off your burger. Thanks for letting people know we are open…. brian (owner)

Thanks for the info Brian, and thanks for the Cheddar update! Two varieties of cheddar–that’s even better. Will have to get by and give this location a try.

Nothing worse than dry buns. The bun is usually one of the things we receive great reviews on. Look forward to seeing you and thanks for letting people know we are open. It really helps us smaller guys. brian
